The New Offline Feature for TripAdvisor App Allows You to Access TripAdvisor Content Without a Data Connection

TripAdvisor Mobile App

Have you ever been traveling abroad on the lookout for a great place to eat or stay, but the fear of racking up roaming charges leaves you too afraid to check your phone? If so, you’ll be happy to know that TripAdvisor has just introduced a new feature for the TripAdvisor app that allows you to download TripAdvisor reviews, photos and city maps before you go and then access this information on your trip—even when no data connection is available.

This new offline feature for the TripAdvisor app gives you access to millions of reviews and opinions for 300 cities worldwide offline, without incurring any of those expensive roaming charges.

To access the offline feature, just search for a city within the TripAdvisor app when a data connection is available and tap a button to download city content. Once downloaded, the app will automatically transition between the offline mode featuring 10 reviews per point of interest when no data connection is available, and the full live version of the app when it is cellular or WiFi-connected.

You may add and remove city maps as needed based on what city you’re exploring. You can also download the latest version of the city map to sync the content with the reviews and opinions available on TripAdvisor’s constantly refreshed live site.

The new offline feature is now available in all countries and languages where the TripAdvisor app is presently available, and you can get it on both iOS and Android smartphones.
