We love getting in-person visits from the media, so we were thrilled with Greg Huang from Xconomy stopped by our Newton headquarters. While here, Greg sat down with Jamie Conroy, TripAdvisor’s Director of Social Product, for a chat about the company’s 2013 product plans.
In the Xconomy article that resulted from this interview, Jamie talks about our focus on mobile and social technology, and why user generated content has revolutionized the travel space.
On the social front, the article touches on our evolution with Facebook and why we believe that travel advice from the crowds is most useful when complemented with advice from friends.
On the mobile front, Jamie talked about the importance of constantly working to make TripAdvisor’s family of apps (TripAdvisor, City Guides, and SeatGuru) more interactive. Travel is such a complex space – each traveler has different travel habits and needs – so it’s important that our product teams can quickly develop new features, and “push the edge” of mobile technologies.
In short, our product teams are working hard every day to deliver the best social and mobile experience for our users. To read the Xconomy article in its entirety, click here.
