TripAdvisor traveler tip: Check out the live music in the terminals and the wide variety of local-favorite restaurants, from Flying Elephant’s Delicatessen to Rogue Ale’s Public House. Doughnut lovers will want to make sure they stop by Blue Star Donuts, which will be opening a location at PDX this fall.

  1. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), Richfield, Minnesota

TripAdvisor traveler tip: Travelers recommend having lunch at TwinBurger and trying the South Minneapolis favorite Jucy Lucy- the cheese goes inside the patty instead of on top. While you wait, use the free iPads to check your email and keep an eye on your flight status

  1. Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL), Dallas, Texas

TripAdvisor traveler tip: Dallas has invested a lot in upgrades over the last few years, and it shows. Travelers rave about the variety of restaurants from southern fast food favorite Whataburger, Cantina Laredo for authentic Mexican plates, and Texas-style BBQ at Dickey’s Barbeque Pit.

  1. Tampa International Airport (TPA), Tampa, Florida

TripAdvisor traveler tip: Stop by Cigar City Brewing, the nation’s only airport brewery, and try a Tony Jannus Pale Ale,  named after the pilot who flew the world’s first commercial flight. (It ran between St. Petersburg and Tampa.)

  1. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Seattle, Washington

TripAdvisor traveler tip: Craving local flavor? Check out Anthony’s restaurant and fish bar, or try Beecher’s Handmade Cheese for artisan cheeses and local favorite mac n’ cheese.
